In coordination with Rev. Nat’s theme for Sunday services, he is leading a seven-week Spirit Circle Study Group on Zoom that started Tuesday, April 28, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The class centers around the book Sabbath by Wayne Mueller
One of the ancient prescriptions for living well is to regularly withdraw into quiet reduced activity, a holy Sabbath. Sabbath time is not only about going up to the seashore or to the mountaintop to pray. Jesus went up to the mountaintop, his truth, to heal and to teach. We are called to do the same. Gently, quietly, with prayerful intention and attention. We honor this Sabbath time – together in community. This book has a rich and extraordinarily relevant message for today. The whole world has been thrown into sheltering at home, reduced activity. It can be a holy time of finding renewal and delight in our resting time.
A quick and easy way to get a copy of the book is through eBay or Amazon (paperback or Kindle). Study questions for the seven-week series will be available in the Little Library book box in the church parking lot. Follow our Facebook page for updates on Study Question handouts.
This class will be offered via Zoom video conference. For information about how to access the class, subscribe to our email.
